Nagarjuna Shirdi Sai Movie Complete Review Exclusive!!

Banner: Sri Sai Krupa Entertainments Pvt. Ltd.
Cast: Nagarjuna, Srikanth, Sneha, Kamalini Mukherjee and others
Cinematography: S. Gopal Reddy
Art: Sri.Bhaskar Raju, Srikanth
Editing: Shravan
Music: Keeravani
Producer: A.Mahesh Reddy
Screenplay- Direction: Raghavender Rao
Dialogues: Parchuri Brothers
CBFC rating: U
Release date: 06-09-2012

Synopsis:

There have been several prior depictions on the life and times of Sadguru Sai Baba on celluloid in quite a few languages. This version is one more approach using latest technology and quite a few cinematic liberties. But the underlining concept is the preaching of equality of Sai in a line – Sab Ka Malik Ek.

Performances:

Earlier, there is Vijay Chander who portrayed the role of Sai Baba and lived up to the perfection. There many temples and household which have his getup as the real god picture. His impact as Sai is just as Legend NTR’s Krishna Avatar. But Nagarjuna had given a good performance in the role. He moulded his personality to get in to the skin of the character andthe make up suited perfectly. But the walking style and the depth in the voice made the difference. Whenever, Sai says some thing the real Nagarjuna flashed for a moment.

But his acting in the last 20 minutes in the movie is immaculate. He excelled in the role during that time and created a divine magic with his eyes itself. I can confidently say he is the best in the current generation to portray the role.

Rest – Srikanth as Dasaganu, Sri Hari as Wales, Brahmanandham as Sandeham, Kamalini as Radha Krishna Mai, Shiyaji Shinde as Bhatia, Sharath Babu as Mahalsapathi contributed their parts in limited space.

Technical Performances:

Raghavender Rao is undoubtedly the only director who can deliver Devotional movies near to perfection in the current generation. He had done good job in extracting performances. But the script could have derived more emotions. Somehow, the divinity is not a full meal.He took certain liberties to induce comedy in Dharamavarapu – Shiyaji Shinde episodes but that did not click.

Keeravani’s Back Ground Score and music is the best and is certainly an asset to the movie. And added depth to the movie. Inspite of taking some cinematic liberties, the script work and the dialogues by Parchuri Brothers are good.

Cinematography suited the mood of the story. Graphics work could have been better.

Final Say:

The movie may not be a classic like Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Charitra but is certainly the best remake and portrayal of Baba life the current generation can get. Inspite of few glitches, the makers should be commended for their noble effort to give a devotional movie to this generation with out caring the commercial liabilities involved.

Barfi Hindi Movie Complete Review Exclusive 1st On Net

Release Date: 14 Sep 2012
Movie: Barfi
Star cast: Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Ileana D’Cruz, Saurabh Shukla, Bhola Raj Sapkota and Akash Khurana.
Producer: Siddharth Roy Kapur, Ronnie Screwvala
Director: Anurag Basu
Music Director: Pritam Chakraborty

Rating:2.5/5

Story :Set in Darjeeling, Ranbir Kapoor plays a deaf-mute person affectionately called Barfi

Barfi, directed by Anurag Basu is undoubtedly one of the best and intelligent films to be churned out in a long time. Accepting oneself with all shortcomings, loving each other and smiling your way all the way upto the finish line – this is how one can describe Barfi!
Barfi inspires, moves and delves into the inner strength of individuals. Once the curtains are drawn, you are left behind with a feeling of joy and peace.

Barfi, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D’Cruz in the lead is full of life and you end up loving each and every character. Anurag Basu has done something that very few filmmakers would like to experiment. When you are dealing with characters that are disabled in some way or the other, it’s difficult not to get into a stereotype mode of making the audience sympathise with the protagonists and portraying a ‘sorry’ picture. But Basu balances it extremely well without making you feel heavy or depressed.

Filled with positivity, Barfi hails the ‘never-say-die’ spirit of human beings and show us the ray of hope through the dark clouds. Music by Pritam is brilliant and so is the cinematography by Ravi Varman. The scenic beauty of Darjeeling is captured beautifully and you become part of their world.

Story
Barfi is set in the beautiful locales of Darjeeling and Kolkata, and is told in flashbacks. Barfi tells the story of Murphy (Ranbir Kapoor) who is dumb and deaf. Murphy is lovingly called ‘Barfi’. The story is narrated mainly by Shruti and others who make up Murphy’s world.Barfi is an extremely optimistic and a jovial person who loves to live life kingsize, no matter what the problem surrounding him is. He gets attracted to Shruti (Ileana), who first comes to Darjeeling with her parents. She is engaged to be married to her college sweetheart.

Then there is the story of Barfi meeting Jhilmil (Priyanka Chopra), who is suffering from autism. Jhilmil is hidden away from society by her parents in a special home for a long time until she is brought back to Darjeeling when her parents demand a share of the grandfather’s heritage. Though Jhilmil’s parents fight it difficult to tackle her, Barfi knows exactly how to handle her. The two become very close and their affection slowly becomes very deep.

Performances
Barfi boasts of some excellent performances by all the actors. Ranbir Kapoor has proved once again that he is truly a versatile actor. His facial expressions and body language is outstanding, and everytime he appears onscreen, you are convinced that Ranbir will definitely live upto his grandfather Raj Kapoor’s name.

Priyanka Chopra as Jhilmil needs a standing ovation too! In a short span, Priyanka has proved her mettle as an actress. She moves one step further this time and will easily emerge as the top contender to bag all main awards this year.

Ileana D’Cruz has already proved her acting abilities in the South. In Barfi, Ilena looks beautiful, confident and comfortable in her own space. She enacts her part with utmost conviction.

Saurabh Shukla, Akash Khurana, Ashish Vidyarthi, Rupa Ganguly and Jishu Sengupta are very good.

Movie Analysis
Barfi has its own share of ‘minuses’ as well. The first half could have been trimmed a little. At times, the audience is left confused and wonder where the film is heading towards. As the central two characters do not have any dialogues, you tend to get a little bored at times.

Verdict
Barfi is a film you can watch and enjoy with family . You can see a bit of you, and a bit of everyone close to you! It might not do great at the box office, but nevertheless. One Time Watchable Movie !

What Is Good:Prabhas performance, fights, Tamannah skin show with sexy dance moves.

What Is Bad: Direction, Screenplay, Music and Second Half

Boring Scenes: Comedy track between Brahmanandam and Kovai Sarala, Flashback epicsode, Love track of leads

Watch It Or Not ?: Will satisfy Prabhas fans to little extent, doesn't make you feel to watch it twice.

Rebel Review: Story

Film starts with gang of bad guys killing city DSP on a rainy night and Rushi [Prabhas] comes to Hyderabad on a mission of finding Steffen Robins. In this process he goes to Bangkok to get an important clue from Nandhini [Tamannaah] who teaches hip hop dances in a dance skol. She falls in love with Rushi in the mean time but Depali [Deeksha Seth] is love interest of Rushi. What were the reasons which made Rushi come to Hyderabad from Vizak to find Steffen Robins? is Steffen Robins a single person or two individuals ? Will Nandhini win over Deepali to get Rushi’s love? Has to be seen on silver screen

Rebel Review : Star Performances

Prabhas has become a complete director’s actor in this film, he has given the best he can and what story needed from him. Action scenes especially fights were nailed down by him and this film have the best dance moves in his film career. Tamannah was used to fill the glamour quotient and she has successfully done her job to a maximum extent. She has managed to do some emotional scenes well but her dancing skills must get special appreciation.  Deeksha Seth role was short & sweet and Rebel star Krishnam Raju is neat & clean with one fight scene specially choreographed for him.  Comedians Brahmannandam,Kovai Sarla ,M.S.Naryana and Ali has done a decent work. Mukesh Rushi has given good performance and Pradeep Rawat has also made their mark in this film

Rebel Review : Direction, Music & Technical Aspects

Raghava Lawrence has disappointed with his directional skills in this flick. Slow story narration with not so gripping screenplay and taking more responsibilities on his back has screwed up the entire film. Songs of this film looked good onscreen but when you listen it without video then it’s tasteless. Camera work by C.Ram Prasad and Editing by Marthand K. Venkatesh were just ok ok.  Budget of whooping 40 crores spend by the producer is not visual on the big screen

Rebel Review : Analysis

First half of the flick is filled up with Rushi trying to find out who is Steffen Robinson? Where does he stay? How he looks like?. The comedy portion is totally handled by Brahanandam and his few scenes with Kovai Sarala were not good. Tamaanha intro song, little skin shoe by her and Prabhas ultie dances moves in Keka are good.   First half of the flick is filled up with Rushi trying to find out who is Steffen Robinson? Tamaanha intro song, little skin show by her and Prabhas ultie dances moves in ‘Keka keka’ are good.   Second half is very week with few good fight scenes and boring flashback which shows key roles of Krishnam Raju and Deeksha Seth. Mass song ‘Orinayana ‘which comes 15 minutes before climax is the only savior from that boring flashback, with classy moves n sexy steps from Tamaanaha.  Fight sequences which are choreographed by Ram Laxma for last ten minutes in the climax were good .

KAMAAL DHAMAAL MALAMAAL Movie Review

KAMAAL DHAMAAL MALAMAAL Movie Review-

KAMAAL DHAMAAL MALAMAAL is not a sequel to MALAMAAL WEEKLY. The sole similarity is a lottery ticket. That apart, KAMAAL DHAMAAL MALAMAAL has a fresh premise and is set in a different village as well. Sure, a few actors from the earlier film [MALAMAAL WEEKLY] feature in KAMAAL DHAMAAL MALAMAAL as well, but they are portraying diverse characters. So, there!

Now to the valid question: Does KAMAAL DHAMAAL MALAMAAL deliver as a film? Does it provide ample laughs, something you expect from a film of this genre? Does it please the entertainment seeking viewer who expects a wacky entertainer from an accomplished director? Unfortunately, KAMAAL DHAMAAL MALAMAAL fails as a film, fails as an entertainer, fails to tickle your funny bone.

Johny [Shreyas Talpade] is petrified of everything and everyone. So much so that he’s labeled ‘Bakri’ by the entire village. Son of David [Om Puri], Johny does nothing other than buying lottery tickets every week. The only thing going in his life is his love for Maria [Madhhurima], the daughter of the sworn enemy of David — Peter [Paresh Rawal]. Armed with his tough-looking sons, Peter goes all out to make sure his daughter and Johny never marry, until one day, hope comes in the form a silent, strong but very hungry man, Sam [Nana Patekar].

Priyadarshan’s comic entertainers have a similar template and KAMAAL DHAMAAL MALAMAAL is no exception. It takes off as a light-hearted entertainer and the comic doses, a few of them, are amusing. Unfortunately, in view of the fact that the film boasts of a powerhouse of talent and the fact that the man at the helm of affairs is Priyadarshan, one expects a lot of dhamaal, with several kamaal situations woven in the plot. But the kamaal and dhamaal are limited to the title, not the script or the performances by its actors.

While the first half has a few interesting episodes, but seems stretched, the second hour seems never-ending, with not much meat in the screenplay. Nana’s past is as lame as the love story, while the enmity between Om Puri and Paresh Rawal appears fake as well. Even the drama that leads to the finale lacks the punch. In short, the screenplay is lackluster and uninspiring. There’s nothing that stays with you once the movie concludes.

The film lacks the by-now-famous Priyadarshan stamp. One would expect Priyadarshan to return with a slam-bang entertainer, but KAMAAL DHAMAAL MALAMAAL is not in league with his earlier accomplished works. Priyadarshan’s movies — most of them — lack a popular musical score, but one expects the music of KAMAAL DHAMAAL MALAMAAL to be pleasant, courtesy Sajid-Wajid, who are known for delivering chartbusters. However, the musical score is dull again.

With such extra-ordinary talent on board, one expects the performances to be top notch. Nana is wasted and so is Paresh Rawal. At least Nana gets ample screen time, but Paresh doesn’t even get that. Om Puri is his usual self. The sole actor who stands out is Shreyas Talpade, who enacts the part of a loser with credibility. He’s first-rate. Madhhurima hardly gets any scope.

Neeraj Vora provides a few laughs. Shakti Kapoor, Asrani, Razzak Khan and Pratima Kazmi are gap fillers. Rajeev Pillai, as Paresh Rawal’s son, is perfect. Anjana Sukhani’s song in the concluding stages seems forced.

On the whole, there’s no kamaal or dhamaal in KAMAAL DHAMAAL MALAMAAL. This one’s a dud!

ENGLISH VINGLISH (2012) Movie Review

ENGLISH VINGLISH (2012) Movie Review-
ENGLISH VINGLISH is the story of a woman who struggles with English and is made to feel insecure by her family and society at large. The film depicts the touching and transformational journey of a housewife, Shashi [Sridevi]. Circumstances make her resolute to prevail over this lack of confidence, master the language, teach the world a lesson or two on the way to becoming a self-assured and confident woman.

If Sridevi is the driving force on screen, it’s Gauri Shinde who stands out with a near-perfect film in her very first attempt. The concept is oven fresh and the handling of a number of sensitive and dramatic moments is noteworthy.

Gauri smartly integrates the songs in the narrative, although, I genuinely feel, the film would’ve excelled even without songs. The songs [Amit Trivedi], though situational, are soft and soothing. Cinematography [Laxman Utekar] captures the vibrant colors with dexterity.

ENGLISH VINGLISH is unimaginable without Sridevi. Correspondingly, I don’t think Sridevi could’ve got a more cohesive script to return to movies. This is unlike what the actress has done in the past. Think of Sridevi and you recall films like HIMMATWALA, CHAALBAAZ, NAGINA, MR. INDIA, CHANDNI, LAMHE, KHUDA GAWAH, LAADLA and JUDAAI. But the supremely talented actress also has non-glam roles like the one in SADMA to her credit. She returns to the big screen in a role that’s sans the frills, spectacle and theatrics and yet wins hearts. She’s stellar, in terrific form, immersing herself in this character, playing her age… so much so that after a point you forget you’re watching someone who has immortalized so many characters. What you carry home, and in your heart, is Shashi, a woman who is snubbed by her children and husband on various occasions for her lack of English-language skills, but overpowers her apprehensions and insecurities and emerges triumphant eventually.

Priya Anand, who has several South Indian language films to her credit, is excellent as Sridevi’s niece, the only person who understands her well, besides her lovable mother-in-law [Sulbha Deshpande]. Another actor to watch out for is Adil Hussain, who enacts the role of Sridevi’s husband, who often taunts her with the remark that she [Sridevi], his wife, was born to make laddoos. He’s natural to the core, addressing a role without going overboard. Sujata Kumar, as Sridevi’s elder sister, is splendid.

French actor Mehdi Nebbou is just right. Even when he’s speaking in French, the expression that he conveys says it all and that is the hallmark of a fine actor. However, when he speaks in French, subtitles in English were essential for the viewer to decipher or decode and would have adjoined considerable value to those extremely significant sequences. Amitabh Bachchan is simply fantastic in a cameo. Wish there was more of this legendary actor! Navika Kotia, enacting the role of the daughter, is first-rate, but it is the child actor, Shivansh Kotia, Sridevi’s son, who is endearing and steals your heart with his adorable antics. Sulbha Deshpande is admirable.

Sridevi’s classmates, each of them, pitch in neat performances. Right from the taxi driver from Pakistan to a South Indian guy to a Mexican nanny and of course, the English teacher, everyone stands out in their respective parts.

On the whole, ENGLISH VINGLISH is a remarkable motion picture. It’s amusing, emotional, heartrending and also insightful. An inspiring film with an overwhelming message. A must-watch for every parent, every child. Strongly recommended!

SURYA'S BROTHERS MOVIE REVIEW - WILL TEST YOUR PATIENCE

Film: Brothers
Starring: Suriya,Kajal Agarwal
Director: K.V. Anand
Producer: Bellamkonda Suresh
Banner: Sri Sai Ganesh Productions
Music: Harris Jayaraj
 Rating:3.2/5

Story:

Brothers movie starts off with Rendai Thirige song that introduces Siamese twins Akil and Vimal played by [Suriya] and Anjali [Kajal Agarwal] too. Akhil is a champ and curious in studies, Vimal is a care-free twin. Sachin Khedekar, a researcher cum businessman is the father of conjoined twin [Suirya].

The story continues according the script and Vimal comes to know that his father is a culprit and costs his life. Rest of the Maatran story takes place in the investigation about Vimal’s death, which will be handled by Akhil along with Anjali, who is a Russian translator.

Performances:

Suriya once again proves he’s director’s actor and especially he made audiences spill out as Akil. Brothers pays off Suriya’s hardwork as a conjoined twin, for which he has done 2500 takes.

Kajal Agarwal is glamorous as Anjali and grabs viewers’ attention with the cute looks and voice over by Chinmayi has worked big time, especially as a Russian translator on mission. Sachin Khedekar as a struggling genetic scientist did his parts well.

Technical Analysis:

Coming to the technical assets of Brothers, script by KV Anand and Subha, VFX works by Srinivasa Murthy, dialogues and Harris Jayraj tunes are good. KV Anand direction is good but he has failed to handle the screenplay in the latter half. The first half was lengthy with action sequences.

Cinematographer S Sounder Rajan’s camera works are perfect, as there is no such frame that makes viewers feels Akil and Vimal are not conjoined. Srinivasa Murthy and his VFX works need a special mention, as this is the backbone of Brothers that is the first Indian movie using Motion Capture technology.
Harris Jayraj’s scores are enjoyable as ever, coming to the background music they have well supported the situations. Especially in some scenes they bring audiences get into script well.Anthony might have done the fine editing, as the movie has many uninteresting scenes.

Analysis:

KV Anand’s Brothers appears to be the sequel to AR Murugadoss’s 7th Sense, which deals on saving India from bio-war with China, while Brothers is with Russia.

First half of Brothers is quite appealing despite few long fight sequences. It is packed with humorous conversations of Siamese twins Akil and Vimal, some romance, emotional scenes in the first half leaving some seeds for the investigation in the second half. Suriya is at his best in the film and the makers hardwork in picturing conjoined twins scenes are visible on-screens.

The second half moves from India to Russia, for some investigation by Suriya, who is supported by Kajal Agarwal, a Russian translator. However, KV Anand fails in engaging the audiences in the second half of the film. The post interval episodes are dragging and logic has gone for a toss big time. The climax part is just okay.

Final Verdict:

Brothers – Unique concept with okay execution. Watch it for Suriya’s brilliant performance…
