CGTR TELUGU MOVIE REVIEW-PAWAN KALYAN PERFORMANCE SUPERB

Story:
Rambabu (Pawan kalyan) is a responsible citizen and fights against all odds in the society. Unlike others, he reacts immediately for the news and tries to rescue the needy. Ganga (Tamanna) works for a regional news channel and persuades Rambabu to join the team after knowing about his character. Opposition leader Jawahar Naidu(Kota Srinivasa Rao) gives sleepless nights to the Chief Minister of the state (Nasser) and his only aim is to see his son Rana Babu (Prakash Raj) as Chief Minister. Does Rana Babu becomes CM ? How does Rambabu try to bring a change in the society forms the rest of the story.

Analysis:
The first half of Cameraman Ganga tho Rambabu is laced with couple of heart touching scenes and entertainment. Director Puri Jagannadh has tried to establish the character of Rambabu in the first half and this hour is good in parts. The second half of Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu is the soul of the movie. Pawan Kalyan is amazing and once again has come up with a brilliant performance. Be it in comedy, his pot shots on the present state of politics has hit the bulls eye and received thumping response from the audience. The scenes like Pawan Kalyan interviewing Prakash Raj before his padayatra(the Telugu Talli episode), the cross dressers fight and the way Pawan Kalyan explains about the difference between extraordinary and ordinary women are fantastic.
Director Puri Jagannadh has carried the movie with par excellence and he needs a round applause for the way he has executed the script. Especially, this half of the movie deals with contemporary issues and apparently awakens social responsibility in every individual. He presented each and every element in a distinct way and apparently it will be received with a great response from the audience. Though, the climax episode have resemblance with Chiranjeevi's 'Tagore', it has been dealt in a different way as per the script. The narration is gripping through out and the song 'Melikal Tirugunte' stands out as the winner.

Perspective:
Director Puri Jagannadh has done fantastic homework and has  presented Pawan Kalyan in a versatile role. The script is tailor made for Pawan Kalyan and I’m sure his fans will love it to the core. The movie has been shot in less than 3 months time and Puri has done a commendable job in showcasing what exactly he has written in the script. He is successful in using Pawan Kalyan to the potential and in fact, only Pawan Kalyan can do justice for these kind of films that deal with several burning issues of the society. Puri has targeted several politicians and several issues with elan and with a fantastic conviction. And it is a delight to watch Pawan Kalyan uttering dialogues in reference to the society.
though it has some limitations, the love angle between the lead pair has been showcased well. Overall, Puri Jagannadh has come up with a right script and apt star cast and Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu is a feast for Pawan Kalyan fans and normal audience. The range of the movie will depend upon the crowd pulling capacity of Powerstar and all I can say is this movie is going to set new milestones in terms of collections at box office. The openings will be huge and apparently Pawan Kalyan is going to give tough fight for the #1 position of Tollywood.

Performances:
Pawan Kalyan is excellent and carried the movie on his shoulders. He marvels in dialogue delivery, comedy timing and needless to say in action episodes as well. This movie will appease all sections of audience for sure and this is a one man show. Tamanna is a delight to watch and has delivered a wonderful performance. Kota Srinivasa Rao is good and Prakash Raj is superb. Ali and Brahmanandam evoked few smiles. Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam is neat. Gabriela Bertante has delivered a decent performance. Scarlet Wilson sizzled in an item song.

Technicalities:
SR Sekhar editing could have been better. Shyam K Naidu's Cinematography is outstanding. Music by Mani Sharma is OK and background score is excellent. Screenplay and dialogues by Puri Jagannadh are fantastic. The last dialogue 'Ee Rashtram naa kutumbam gurinchi pattinchukokapoina nenu ee rashtram gurinchi pattinchunta' received stupedous response from the audience. Stunts by Vijay are too good.

Positives:
Pawan Kalyan's brilliant performance
Puri Jagannadh's screenplay and dialogues
BGM

Negatives:
OK first half
lack of entertainment

CMGR Movie Review Rating: 3.5/5

Final Word: Watch out Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu (CGTR) for Powerstar Pawan Kalyan's excellent performance and Puri Jagannadh's superb dialogues and direction.

Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya Tamil Movie Review

Pongal is here and so are the awaited releases of 2013! Capitalising on fame is the secret of the trade! Making hay while the sun shines, Santhanam comes up with a highly entertaining movie from his comic factory.

Director Manikandan chooses a story that has created quite a bit of controversy before the release. Of course he hasn’t lifted a frame by frame script but it is a highly influenced script of a yesteryear hero. He adds quite a bit of humour dose to it to differentiate!

As the trailers and promos convey, the story is about three friends who try to woo a girl who has just moved in to their neighbourhood. So how they go about it is shown in a humorous light!

When you have Santhanam around there is no doubt you are going to laugh. Forget the script, one member of the cast just tickles you to giggle! Powerstar Srinivasan! Appears he and boom you laugh! Funnier part is, most of the slapstick dialogues on him, got the audience to laugh with applause! Dialogues lighten up the movie just like the fresh cream on a cake!

Though the movie is projected as a complete laugh riot, in some scenes they proved a little too harsh on the audience as the jokes were more on physical appearance than any intellectual slapstick. But most part of it was truly funny.
After a while when you come out and ponder over the movie, all that was totally worth laughing about would have been on the Power star, who’s name in the movie it self is Power!

Songs were completely unnecessary in the movie. You won’t laugh or may be just giggle when you see Power dance. They were waste of reels!

Taman’s music is mediocre except for one gaana song that features Santhanam and the title song. All departments with respective to film making are of high standards. Even other members of the cast – VTV Ganesh, Devadarshini, Kovai Sarala, dance master Sivasankar, heroine Visakha and debutant Sethu perform well. Kovai Sarala was a tad loud but it’s okay. Simbu and Director Gautam Menon make a special appearance. We didn’t leak that, it was informed during the audio launch.

Comedy is the forte of the movie. It’s not a laugh riot as projected but yes you do chucke at times, giggle at times but laugh most of the time. Watch it for the comic drama featuring Santhanam and his timing slap-stick comedy and of course the charming Power Star!

While laughing about the jokes that passed by, bear with the songs and the pace of the movie. Oh while we laugh for a joke we just got reminded of, we wish you a happy and a hilarious Pongal!

Overall, Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya is a perfect joy ride for this Pongal.

SVSC (2013) Telugu Movie Review And Rating

SVSC Movie Review
Rating: 4.0/5
Verdict: The classic of recent times

Plot:

Apart from the commercial movies and action entertainers, Family entertainers play important role in Tollywood. They easily connect to the heart of the audience. Audience will definitely love them if human values are etched in proper manner. If such movies arrives in multistarrer format it would definitely be a great feast to us. SVSC belongs to such genre. The movie finally entered into the box-office war with high range of expectations entertaining both Venkatesh and Maheshbabu fans. So, let us jump into the review of the movie.

Story:

A small family from village Relangi which was headed by Prakashraj who was fondly called as Relangi Mavayya by his family members. His two sons Peddhodu (Venkatesh) and Chinnodu (Mahesh) had a great bonding with each other. Peddhodu is a stingy guy who behaves stubborn in his acts and believes he is right all the time. Where as Chinnodu is  a smart and blend guy who can easily associate  with every one.

Seetha (Anjali) is the wife of Peddhodu where as Geetha (Samantha) is the lady love of Chinnodu.   As soon as these brothers succeeds in making arrangements for their sister’s marriage, small misfortune occurs which break the relation between them. How these brothers gets united is the rest of the story.

Analysis:

First of all hats off to Srikanth Addala for this brave attempt. His selection of characters and sketching their characterizations in an effective manner is should be appreciated. Dil Raju who stood as the backbone for this movie had his own importance too.
SVSC is a sensible heart touching movie it is neither for Mahesh fans nor Venkatesh fans, it is the movie for human who loves their family. After watching this movie every person feel proud to have a brother as they identify themselves with their family in this movie.
The first half of the movie is really a worth watching flick. Every character which enters on screen looks like they were seen in the real life. Song were great to ears with light music.
Second Half of the movie is bit slower in narration when compared to first half. But fact is that it is a hard task for every director to run a family entertainer with such timing.
Screenplay, story and narration are completely clean and neat.No sort of domination of the heroes in the movie was seen. Kudos to the director in managing such giant stars equally and normally.

Performances:
Venkatesh is extraordinary. There is a saying “If he makes us laugh the movie runs for 50 days, if he makes us cry the movie runs for 100 days“. No doubt, Venkatesh is fantastic all the time as he is expert in knowing audience pulse.
Maheshbabu had came up with another class performance after Athadu. His one liners and expressions are superb. No doubt, timing in dialogues is his main assert. He is romantic and handsome too.

Anjali finally filled the empty space which was left by Soundarya. As known earlier she is a telugu lady, she was brilliant in playing a innocent house wife character.
Cute Samantha is gorgeous and beautiful. Her cute expressions and chemistry with Maheshbabu is good.
Prakashraj and Jayasudha are awesome. They are indeed the main highlight of the movie. They proved that they are the HIT pair as parents. All the other characters like Rao Ramesh, Murali Mohan were best upto their part. They justified the roles.

+Plus Points:

Venkatesh and Maheshbabu
Sentiment scenes
Music
Screenplay and narration
Prakash Raj and Jayasudha

-Negative Points:

Little bit slow narration in second half.

Conclusion:

SVSC is a must watched movie. Go and watch it with your family, you come out with a strange experience. Better keep it away if you want high voltage heroism and comedy. It is just a simple movie to analyse ourself about human relations.

Editors Word:

As we hear about Gundamma Katha as the classic movie of yester generations. SVSC will definitely be a human values dictionary for next generations.

Puthagam Tamil Movie Review

Famous television personality Vijay Adiraj’s debut film as director Puthagam with newcomers fails to be an exciting page-turner. Half way through, this ‘book’ of 150 ‘pages’ (minutes), makes you fall asleep.

There is nothing fresh or absorbing in story, cast or presentation. Three guys led by Satya (Arya’s brother),Sanjay Bharathi (Santhana Bharathi’s son) and Vignesh are young guys living in a mansion in Triplicane. Sanjay and Vignesh are employed while Satya is still studying.

Soon, Satya falls in love with Rakul Preet Singh a television reporter. The three guys discover the ill-gotten wealth of a local politician (Suresh), and have a good time before nemesis catches up with them.

Then there is a detective (Jagapathy Babu) and his side –kick the glamorous Rachna Maurya clearly modelled on Pankaj Kapoor’s comedy television serial of 80’s Karamchand.
Puthagam is a mish-mash of various comedy films and serials and has no proper script or narration. Popular television stars pop in and out like Uma Padmanabhan, Fathima Babu, Thalaivasal Vijay and Manobala.

Why did the characterisation of Satya a mild mannered guy change in the climax to a one-man fighting machine in the climax? Heroism cannot be injected; it has to be a part of the narration.

Among the new faces, Rakul Preet Singh passes muster and is promising, while Satya tries to imitate his more famous brother Arya and needs improvement in all departments. The music of James Vasanthan is nothing much to rave about. The one silver lining in otherwise an insipid film is the camera of Laxman Kumar.

Vijay Adiraj intention was to make a commercially viable comedy thriller, but it has not worked out. Commercial entertainers should not have long drawn out scenes and it should be crisp and a bit more racy.

Verdict – Below Average
